All children need a "hero" to help them eat right and stay active.
The Healthy Hero Award is given by the Greater Rochester Health Foundation to people or organizations who are role models for healthy living and that actively engage kids age 2-10 in physical activity and healthy eating. Nominate a Healthy Hero today!
The goals of Be A Healthy Hero 5-2-1-0:
5 – Five servings of fruits and vegetables
2 – No more than two hours of TV, computer, or video games
1 – At least one hour of active play
0 – No sugary beverages (no soda, sports drinks, etc.)
Eligibility:
- Individuals or groups/organizations that are involved with activities or programs in Monroe County that focus on increasing physical activity and/or improving healthy eating for children ages 2-10 and/or their families, over a period of time so that the Healthy Hero is a role model for the community.
