Introducing 5-2-1-0 At Home

Living 5-2-1-0 with your family starts healthy habits for life, for everyone in your family – including you!

Introduce these 5-2-1-0 behaviors at home: 

                  Eat 5 servings of fruits and vegetables

                  Spend no more than 2 hours watching TV, 
                  playing video games or surfing the net

                  Get at least 1 hour of active play

                  Drink 0 sugar-sweetened beverages

 

Your family might not want to give up their bad habits, but small changes in nutrition and your kid's activity will make it easier.

Start with these:

  • Offer wholesome alternatives to unhealthy fare.
  • Encourage your family to try new things, but let them adjust at their own pace.
  • Avoid the “Do as I say, not as I do” approach. Your children will copy your behavior, so lead by example.
